Then around season 5 you begin to see cracks within the story, characters acting odd etc. Then onto season 6 and your hope will be restored, you will get to experience two of the most incredible moments in TV. This makes it all the more painful when the absolute cluster fuck of season 7 and 8 roll around. It's not just season 8, it uses season 7 AND 8 to make one 10-episode final season, with the finale being movie length. It doesn't just try to improve the ending of Thrones, it very much succeeds. The overall pitch is that it deals with the war with Cersei first, and then the War for the Dawn is the climax, rather than the other way around
